Symptoms of a Damaged Suspension
Rough Ride
A rough ride can indicate a wide variety of problems. The most common is definitely worn shock absorbers. Over time, your shock absorbers may leak from their upper and lower seals. When this happens, they’re no longer able to absorb road vibrations and bumps, hence the rough ride. At Lanier Truck Repair, we’ll replace or repair shock absorbers as necessary. Other causes of a rough ride may include warped linkages and worn bushings.
Air Leaks
If you hear a hissing sound or see a visible air leak, we highly recommend bringing your truck in for service as soon as possible. If air is leaking from your system, your airbags may not be getting enough compressed air. This means your cargo won’t be properly supported and may be at risk of falling off your trailer. Symptoms of airbags with low air include squatting and sagging when under a heavy load.
